Description

Gemälde aus dem "Abrahamszyclus" von Johann Hopffe, um 1591.
Das Bild wurde gemalt für das Schoss Brake in Lippe. Hopffe schuf eine aus zwölf Tafeln bestehende Geschichte Abrahams. 1591 kündete der Künstler dem Auftraggeber Graf Simon VI. (1554-1613) die Vollendung des Zyclus an.
1932 wurden die Tafeln auf dem Dachboden einer Schule wiederentdeckt und seither mehrfach restauriert.
