Der englische Schriftsteller Alan Sillitoe (* 4. März 1928 in Nottingham; † 25. April 2010 in London) wurde vor allem durch seine Erzählung "Die Einsamkeit des Langstreckenläufers" (The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, 1959) bekannt. Diese Schreibmaschine hat Sillitoe einige Jahre genutzt und schließlich 1964 seinem Bruder Brian geschenkt.
