Die Firma Frister & Rossmann stellte neben Nähmaschinen schon früh amerikanische Schreibmaschinenmodelle wie die "Caligraph" unter Lizenz in Deutschland her. 1913 wurde mit der Produktion der von Franz Kraudzun (1885 - 1943) entwickelten Senta begonnen. Insgesamt wurden vier verschiedene Modelle dieser Serie produziert. 1929 musste die Firma Frister & Rossmann wegen großen Geschäftsverlusten durch die Auswirkungen des Ersten Weltkrieges aufgelöst werden und die Produktion der Senta-Schreibmaschinen fand ihr endgültiges Ende.
